Stud Services Offered by Breeders of Bichon Frise

If you own a female Bichon Frise and you want to have more puppies, you might want to consider getting stud services that are being offered by breeders of Bichon Frise.

breeders choice dog food

A stud is a male dog that has the qualities of being a prolific breeder. When getting stud services, you should do some research on breeders of Bichon Frise in your local area.

BREEDERS

Most reputable breeders post photos of the stud as well as the breeding history, including the number of litters it has successfully sired and the number of puppies per litter. If there are particular studs that interest you, set an appointment with the breeder for you to actually see them. Good studs should be very healthy and have complete shots. Inquire about their diets as a healthy stud must have adequate nutrition to ensure the production of quality sperms. Make sure that you ask about any health problems in the puppies that it has sired. Some studs may have a history of having puppies that are stillborn or have birth defects.

After you have finished making your inquiries, it will be the breeder's turn to ask questions from you. Obviously, they would want to know the state of health of your female Bichon as well as request for copies of documents pertaining to its pedigree. If your female dog has given birth before, they would also like to know the state of health of the puppies in the litter. Stillbirths and congenital anomalies may make breeders decline your request for a stud service. If this is going to be the first time that your female dog will be mating with a stud, breeders would require that your pet be checked out by their veterinarian to ensure your dog's good health for conception and birth.

If the breeder approves of your request for stud service, you will be asked to observe your pet for signs of heat (fertility in dogs). Female Bichon Frises go into heat approximately every six months, and it is characterized by a clear discharge which is followed by bleeding. Breeders do not allow mating to occur during the first heat. On the second or third heat, the breeders will advise that you bring your female pet 10 to 14 days after the start of the bleeding. Most stud services require that your dog be roomed in at the kennel. This will help the breeder to determine which specific Bichon stud matches the temperament of your pet to ensure proper mating.

After breeding has been accomplished, you may choose to let your pet stay at their kennel or you can bring her home. If you choose to bring your Bichon home, strictly follow the diet and vitamin instructions that the breeder will give you to ensure the good health of your pet and the puppies growing in her womb.

Stud Services Offered by Breeders of Bichon Frise

On average, breeders of Bichon Frise may charge stud service fees of up to 0 plus a pick of the litter when your dogs give birth. Despite the cost, getting a reputable stud service will give you the reassurance that you will have pedigreed pups from your female pet.

Latest Gorgeous Coach Sneakers

I used to like the colorful and marvelous sneakers from Louis Vuitton and even consider them art of living. And then one day I suddenly found that Coach also offers us a complete range of sneakers, gorgeous sneakers. For instance, this fall winter fashion season it mainly focuses on three patterns of sneakers. They are the New Barrett Sneaker, the OP Art Kathleen Runner and the Zorra Ocelot Sneaker. Here I will introduce them one by one.

valeo ocelot

Firstly, as to the Barrett Sneakers, I have to say that it is its shiny color combination and the abstract golden pattern that attract me very much. Beside this kind of shoe is available in three colors, black multi/gold, black/white/black trim and khaki/chestnut. Although only priced at .00, its signature jacquard fabric with leather trim and cotton twill lining is stylish and comfortable for sunny day wearing. Secondly, the OP Art Kathleen Runner made from Coach OP Art print fabric, suede trim and brushed nylex lining is priced at 8.00. Being relatively pricy, the runner is much more comfortable to wear than the above sneaker. The third style is the Zorra Ocelot Sneaker, which is in a more elegant shape. The shoe features signature jacquard fabric with ocelot hair-calf trim, cotton twill lining and rubber sole. There are occasions one has to wear the high-heel pumps to appear formal, but more times we are concerned about our own comfortably wearing. You need such a pair of sneakers.

The Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile is a one mile weight for age stakes race for three year old horses and older. The race is designed to contrast the Breeders' Cup Mile, which is run on grass. The Dirt Mile will be ran either on natural dirt or synthetic track, as the 2008 Breeders' Cup races are slated for Santa Anita, which will have a new synthetic surface installed prior to the races.

The Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile was first ran in 2007 at Monmouth Park Racetrack in Oceanport, New Jersey. The race cannot be slated as a graded stakes race until after its second running in 2008 due to technical requirements, however, the race will have a ,000,000 purse, which is required for Grade I stakes races. The weight for age designation is also reserved for the highest-quality horse races.

BREEDERS

The Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile is a one mile race, but was held at one mile and seventy yards at Monmouth Park due to the configuration of the track. There are four qualifying races that horses must compete in to be eligible to compete in the Dirt Mile. These include the Salvator Mile held at Monmouth, the San Diego Handicap held at Del mar, Longacres Mile held at Emerald and the Tiznow Stakes held at Louisiana Downs.

The first winner of the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile was Corinthian in 2007. The horse was jockeyed by Kent Desormeaux and trained by James A. Jenkins.

For the 2008 running of the Dirt Mile, there are several horses already competing for their spot. Three horses have acquired their berth through challenge wins including Notional, Wasserman and Well Armed. However, Notional was retired after an injury and will not be competing in the race. Wasserman, a six year old, has opened the door to compete after winning the Longacres Mile at Emerald. The horse is bred, owned and trained by Howard Belvoir. The horse has only had seven lifetime starts and 2008 earnings of 9,300.

The other contender, Well Armed, has had five starts, but has 2008 earnings of ,160,000. Well Armed earned his spot by winning the San Diego Handicap at Del Mar. Well Armed competed at the Emirates Airline Dubai World race, which featured a purse of million. This is the only race to have a greater purse than the Breeders' Cup Classic. Well Armed placed third in this prestigious race and is sure to be the competition to beat in the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile.

Your Golden Retriever Breeder Guide

Are you in search of the perfect golden retriever puppy? Do you want to start breeding this wonderful and noble breed of dog? Whether you are a prospective dog owner, or you are a breeder beginner, this article is here to help you! This is a guide all about the golden retriever breeder.

breeders choice dog food

The first step to your quest is learning the Breed Standard for golden retrievers. The Breed Standard maintains the integrity of the breed by setting a descriptive standard for a purebred dog. Any reputable breeder uses the Breed Standard as a guide for his/her breeding program. The American and European (including British) Breed Standards are a little different for goldens. This is why American and European goldens each have their own distinctive look. Find the American standard at akc.org, and the British version at thekennelclub.org.uk.

BREEDERS

Good breeders will register all of their dogs. Any puppy and both of the parents should be registered, showing that they are purebred goldens. In the U.S., the breeder should be able to provide AKC registration paperwork. You can check the AKC registration number(s) with the AKC. In Britain, look for KC registration. Other national kennel clubs will be different such as the Australian National Kennel Council, and the Canadian Kennel Club. Breeders should maintain a 3-to 5-generation record of each dog's pedigree showing all of the dogs are purebred. Again, the registered names and numbers can be checked with the AKC, or the appropriate organization. By the way, charging extra for paperwork is against AKC rules. Finally, once a puppy is sold the breeder should provide a form to transfer registered ownership, so the puppy will be registered with the AKC or KC in the buyer's name.

What about 'snowy' looking golden retrievers? These beautiful dogs are technically a light cream color. Breed Standards don't allow a golden to have a 'white' coat. Cream goldens are European dogs. The AKC Breed Standard does not allow a purebred to have a shade of gold that pale. Registration for a cream puppy is a straightforward process in Britain or Europe. In America, a cream golden should have the distinctive look of a European dog. However, a puppy will generally have AKC registration because imported purebreds can be reregistered with the national kennel club. At some point, the puppy's parents or ancestors were imported. The breeder should be able to provide the registration form and number from the appropriate European kennel club.

Most golden retriever health problems are related to genetics. This is why it is so important for a breeder to screen each breeding pair before they have a litter of puppies. This testing is standard, and the certification paperwork should be shown to prospective buyers as a matter of course. There should be OFA certification for the hips (hip dysplasia) and elbows. A thorough breeder will also have Orthopedic Foundation for Animals certification for the heart and thyroid. CERF certification for eyes is important because goldens can often have cataracts when they are older. If you are a breeder, consider a DNA profile for your dogs and DNA testing for disease. Cancer is the leading cause of death for this breed.

It is a very good idea to visit the breeder before purchasing a golden retriever. Buying a puppy is a lifelong investment. Goldens live 10-15 years on average. Not all breeders are created equal. So, don't focus on only one breeder. When you visit a breeder, come prepared with a list of questions. A quality breeder will be knowledgeable about the breed, and passionate about his/her dogs. Make sure you spend time with each puppy's parents. This should be no problem. That way you can have a good idea of what your future dog will look like, and if the parents are healthy. Also, spend time with the litter. This way you can compare the personalities of the puppies. Finally, spend time with your puppy. Is he/she comfortable with you?

It takes a full time commitment to breed golden retrievers, and there are significant start-up costs. You will also need adequate and clean facilities and a lot of space to raise a litter of 8-12 puppies. You will have to be prepared to help with whelping. For example, the dam may need a caesarean at the vet if there is difficulty with whelping the litter. Puppies should not be sold until they are 7-8 weeks old. The puppies should also be socialized before they are sold, and they should be vaccinated and de-wormed. Buyers should be provided with written instructions for feeding, care, and training. A good breeder will also offer a guaranteed puppy contract, so the puppy can be returned within a reasonable time frame. Being a member of a breed club is a good idea, and they can also be a good source for advice.

Female German Shepherds

German Shepherds are one of the most popular pet dogs in the world. In fact, they rank among the top three of America's most favorite. They are strong, agile, well-muscled, and have a very good appearance. They are also an obedient and loyal breed and are easy to train. There are many factors to consider in choosing a German Shepherd. The more general factors are appearance, health, strength, and intelligence. One great factor is also the gender. The gender of which dog to choose is, of course, strictly a matter of preference. But you would want to know if there is a big difference between the male and female in their appearance, behavior or abilities. You may want to choose a female German Shepherd, for example, for their comparably more genteel manner or simply for the reason that they are able to give birth to pups.

breeders choice dog food

Size

BREEDERS

Generally, you can tell the gender of a German Shepherd dog simply by its appearance. A male German Shepherd is larger and more masculine in structure. The female smaller and more feminine. A smaller size can be advantageous if you want your dog to live indoors with your family. A female's size can also be an advantage in their working ability.

Instinct

Female German Shepherds are instinctive of their packs and are more protective of their family--in this case, your family. Male shepherds are more territorial and protective of their surroundings. Females are more affectionate to her owner and the other family members she lives with. This instinct may also cause her to be jealous of other pets in the household.

Reproduction

A big consideration in choosing a female German Shepherd is their ability to reproduce puppies. After a female gives birth, the puppies are usually retained by the female. Sometimes a ouooy or two goes to the male's owner. If the female is not intended for breeding, it is recommended that she be spayed to avoid complications.

1975 Yugoslavia, the only "Communist competitor" in London, qualified for the second round and then placed seventh.

1977 Once again, politics played a major role in this international contest. Surprisingly, Jamaica did not defend its Miss World title. Why? It boycotted this event to protest the inclusion of South Africa. The country's Head of Government Michael Manley, an admirer of Cuba's dictator Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz, refused to allow Jamaica to compete in Britain. The Island was joined by India, Indonesia, Liberia, Malaysia, Mauritius, Philippines, Singapore, Swaziland, and Yugoslavia.

1978 Was Argentina the heavy-favorite for the Miss World title? No, it wasn't. But, Silvana Suarez, Argentina's representative, won the crown. 1983 Welcome to England.Miss Malaysia Michelle Yeoh --today one of Asia's most famous actresses -- did not even make the semi-finals, but she saw this global contest as a great learning experience.

1984 Perhaps the most notable "Miss World anecdote" for Bolivia wasprovided by Erika Wyesse, a spectacular blonde. Unfortunately, the ocelot is an endangered animal on Earth, including Bolivia.

1985 The United States won the Miss Americas title for the first time other than Venezuela, Colombia and the Dominican Republic. 1998 Miss Israel, Linor Abargil, captured the international award -- she won the country's only Miss World title that decade and century. In addition to this title, Israel has had several semi-finalists and finalists: 1956 ( 2nd runner-up ), 1957 ( semi-finalist ), 1959 ( 2nd runner-up ), 1960 ( 1st runner-up ), 1962, 1967 ( 3rd runner-up ), 1968 ( 2nd runner-up / favorite ), 1969, 1970 ( 2nd runner-up ), 1972 ( 2nd runner-up ), 1973 ( 3rd runner-up ), 1974 ( fourth runner-up ), 1976, 1980 ( 2nd runner up / favorite ), 1983, 1984, 1985, 1992, and 1995 ( 3rd runner-up ).

According to Ladbrokes, Stroup, Miss America, was a "huge favorite" to win the international crown, ahead of Christianne Balmelli ( Chile ), Sara Corner ( India ), and Andreina Prieto ( Venezuela ). The USA had won the award twice, in 1973 and 1990.

2002 Turkey's beauty queen was elected Miss World. She brought home her country's first ever Miss World. For the first time, there were 20 semi-finalists: Nigeria, Holland, Colombia ( 1st runner-up ), Puerto Rico, China, Yugoslavia, Russia, Peru ( 2nd runner-up ), Norway, Vietnam, India, Curacao, Aruba, Australia, Philippines, Bosnia Herzegovina, Italy, Venezuela and the United States.

2003 Miss World, Rosanna Davison was hand-picked by a top-class international jury, including Candace Bushnell ( author ), Jackie Chan ( actor ), Pradeep Guha ( journalist ), and Gustavo Gianetti ( model ). Davidson was a big favorite after the preliminaries. Prior to Ireland 's victory, it did not advance past the second round since 1990.

2004 Miss USA, Nancy Randall, made the top Three. In China, Randall became the second black American to be named semi-finalist in Miss World. She hails from Brazil.

2005 Iceland - the most sparsely populated country on the continent of Europe - won its third global title. Curiously it has more MW awards than any country aside from India ( 5 ), Venezuela ( 5 ) and the United Kingdom ( 4 ). "Miss World went to Unnur Birna Vilhjalmsdottir " was the headline in newspapers in Iceland, an Island in the North Atlantic near the Arctic Circle.

2006 Was Miss Venezuela, Federica Guzman Diamante, the heavy favorite for the Miss World trophy? Yes, she was. But, unfortunately, Venezuela did not win the international pageant. Guzman Diamante -- a television hostess - failed to make into the finals. Despite its historical success in countless contests, Venezuela has not won a MW award since 1995.

2007 In fairness to thePeople's Republic of China, the birthplace of the beauty contests on Earth, Zhang Zi-lin , a native of Beijing, became Miss World 2007. Miss China was also the second beauty queen from a Communist nation -- after Poland in 1989 -- to win the European prize. Zhang, an ex hurdler, was the number one favorite for the crown, alongside other names like Ada Aimee de la Cruz, Miss Dominican Republic, and Jugita Jurkute, Miss Lithuania. For the fourth time, the event was held in a Marxist country. China -- with one of the most fervent beauty contests followers in Asia -- became the 33rd country to win the global award.

2008 Johannesburg ( South Africa ). The new star of Russia, Kseniya Vladimirovna Sukhinova, was chosen Miss World. Miss Russia beat 109 other entries in the pageant. She, the heavy press favorite, became the first Russian woman to win Miss World since Yulia Kurochkina in 1992.

Leopard Gecko Breeders and Talking About Sex

While a great many folks will get their gecko from a pet store of sorts, an increasingly popular alternative is to try to find a leopard gecko breeder near you. As you likely know, it can be tough to gauge what you're buying at a run-of-the-mill pet store. These stores are populated often with lower-paid employees who have little choice but to sell the inventory that has come in.

breeders choice dog food

When you buy at a pet store, you may never know whether your gecko came straight out of the wild from the wild mountain sloes of central Asia or whether it came from the breeder around the corner from you. A wild gecko might have difficulty adapting, whereas the bred gecko is used to captivity. Moreover, the bred gecko could possibly be purchased directly from the breeder at a lower price, without padding the pocket of the middleman pet store.

BREEDERS

Aside from money, purchasing from leopard gecko breeders helps you ensure both solid genetics and a healthy disposition. The leopard gecko breeders deal with their animals first-hand every day of the week. They are able to relay information about the age, disposition, and health of each animal. If you just consider age, for example, wouldn't it be nice to know that your leopard gecko is just a year old rather than 12? After all, if they live about 20 years, there's a big difference. But it could be tough to discern the age of wild-caught gecko with certainty.

If you find some leopard gecko breeders near you, this gives you yourself a great chance to screen the animals. For instance, you can examine the critter to see if it shows signs that are either a sign of health or a sign of distress. You might see evidence of paralysis, inflammation or actual sores, or some mucus in the nose or mouth. Alternately, you might just observe that the breathing seems pressures. Or the animal could be lethargic. These are warning signs that all is not necessarily well.

On the flip side, this gives you a great chance to verify the health of the animal too. See, you can for vibrant eyes. Also, as opposed to mucus-filled membranes, look to see that the mouth and nose are clear. If the animal is active, this is always a good sign. You might also observe the tail, as a fat tail shows that leopard gecko breeders are giving them ample diet. These geckos store fat in their tail. Just as you examine the eyes for brilliance, you'll want to see if the skin is bright as well. These signs help you discern that the animal is healthy and likely to display a good appetite and thrive once taken home.

In addition to health, visiting leopard gecko breeders lets you check out the character of the animal and the character of the breeder. You want one that is social and fine with being held. It's always possible that some leopard gecko breeders are doing it more for the money than the love of the animal. If so, they may not handle them sufficiently. Plus, you can see if they are adept at distinguishing the sex of the animals. If they handle them frequently and give optimal care, they will know the different genders, as this drives the care they provide. Boys and girls get slightly different care. If they aren't comfortable "talking about sex," then they likely can't tell the difference and aren't providing tailored care.

If you run into trouble find leopard gecko breeders in your area, you might try a pet shot or, specifically, a reptile show that comes to town. More and more of these are conducted these days. Here at these functions, you'll find the most devoted hobbyists and reptile lovers. If you find other leopard gecko enthusiasts, you might just have landed a contact that will be a great resource in the future.

The Traits Of Fake Shih Tzu Breeders

When you decide it is time to bring home a Shih Tzu for you and your family you want to be certain that you are getting the best start you possible can when you start life with your new pet. The best way to insure you get the best dog you can get and a breeder you can trust is to do some research and make sure you get a reputable Shih Tzu breeder. A good breeder makes all the difference in the world, so take your time and make the right choice the first time.

breeders choice dog food

The first thing you can do is check with the National Kennel Club to find a reputable breeder in your area. The National Kennel Club will have a listing of most of the very good breeders near you and also some information about the dogs that breeder offers. There are other breeder registries that you can also look into and check out any potential local breeder you may want to deal with. If they are not listed with a registry then you may want to avoid them.

BREEDERS

The relationship between you and your Shih Tzu breeder extends way beyond the transaction itself. A good breeder wants to make sure you have a positive experience in owning the dog so they will make themselves available for consultation or whenever you have a question at all. If the breeder you are dealing with is not very accessible and seems unable or unwilling to answer questions then you may want to pick a different Shih Tzu breeder to deal with.

Every good breeder is very concerned about your dog's health so a good breeder will make sure you leave their property not only with a healthy dog but with detailed care and feeding instructions so you know exactly how to care for your dog. Many of the more reputable breeders will also send you home with a sample of the type of food your dog will need so you know exactly what to get.
A reputable Shih Tzu breeder will get an extra incentive from insurance companies that the more shady breeders do not get. A registered and reputable breeder will get the option to offer new owners free pet insurance on their dog that extends for six weeks after the purchase date. The insurance companies want you to use the insurance just once on a vet appointment and then extend the insurance. The breeder just wants to make sure the dog is covered.

Any good breeder will offer many options and pieces of advice to any new or experienced owner. You should discuss with your prospective breeder any of these conditions to see if you are dealing with a reputable breeder or not. A reputable breeder will offer to take the dog back at any point in its life if you can no longer care for it, with no cash refund. That is something you do not get from a shady breeder.

Swan Breeders

If you are looking for swan breeders, you need to be sure to take a look at the environment where the swan is being kept. When you buy swans for your property or to breed, you want to buy two - a male and a female. The area where the swan breeders keep the swans should be clean, protected and have all of the necessities that swans need to thrive. You do not want to buy swans from swan breeders who are breeding carelessly, caging the birds or not keeping a sanitary area in which they can live. You will most likely end up with more problems than ever if you do this.

breeders choice dog food

Good swan breeders will breed swans in the open so that the area is as much like a natural habitat for them as possible. The swans like water and there should be a body of water for them to swim. They should have nesting areas as well as shelter. Responsible swan breeders will make certain that they are not harmed by predators by keeping a fence around the area where the swans live. They will be sure that there is no inbreeding of the creatures and will not break up a swan couple. Swans mate for life, so it is important that swan breeders respect this and keep the swan couples together. If you want to get started breeding swans on your own, the best way to do so is to purchase a swan couple that has already successfully mated and produced cygnets. This may cost a little bit more money, but will be well worth it. There is a divorce in the swan world if the mating is unsuccessful, so you do not want to buy two birds from swan breeders that will not mate, or else you will not get any other birds from them, nor will you have two happy birds.

BREEDERS

Because swans live in pairs, it is necessary to have two of them. You should get the male and the female from responsible swan breeders who raise the swans on open land. In some cases, the wings are clipped so that the birds cannot fly away. If you raise the swans and give them shelter, water and food, it is unlikely that they will want to fly away. They usually only do so when they fear predators or to find other sources of food. As long as you provide the food, they will be content.

By choosing good swan breeders, you can also learn something about the swans and what to expect from their behavior. Swans are not aggressive animals, but you should approach them cautiously at first. As they get used to you and you feeding them, they will warm up to you as a human and realize that you are not out to harm them. Still, when a female is nesting, you will not want to disturb her or the eggs. Swan breeders can not only provide you with good swans, but breeding and raising tips as well.

Parrot Breeders: From Beginner To Expert

Parrot breeders are the sergeant parents of the parrots that are born. Therefore they play the most important role in how the parrots lives that they raise. As with any other animal, the way the parrot is brought up from the beginning will affect the outcome of adulthood.

breeders choice dog food

If you are searching to find a parrot breeder, always make sure that the one you choose has an excellent reputation. The best places to find good parrots are normally from pet stores or rescue groups, however purchasing from a breeder means that you can find out where the bird originated and all its history up to the point it is at in life.

BREEDERS

Different parrot breeders often have different methods for breeding. One of the largest responsibilities you can have as a breeder is how you feed your parrots. One parrot may have a different response to a certain type of food than another parrot. The breeders need to always make sure the food that they are providing is very safe and nutritious.

Weaning the baby parrots is another responsibility that breeders have. Baby parrots need soft food, pellets, seeds, and the freshest produce.

Most people who buy parrots tend to have their wings clipped, however what they don't realize is that babies need to be able to learn how to fly before the owners get their wings clipped. It is in the bird's nature to want to be able to fly and without this ability they will not thrive as they would in the wild. Before clipping their wings, the owner should always allow them some time to at least learn how to fly.

Not only should the babies be able to fly, they should also be able to fly accurately and make a landing after flight. Parrots are often much more sociable and healthy if the breeder takes great care of it from when it's born until the time it is sold. Buyers should always ask the breeder how they socialize with the parrots that they sell.

Another important thing you must find out about your breeder is if they truly care about the birds that they are selling, or if they are just in this to make some money. Most of the time they are very caring and very responsible, but there are always a few who are not as truthful as they seem.

Make sure that you realize aspects such as the fact that it is usually illegal to ship birds through certain companies and in different ways. Also, make sure you bathe your baby parrot when it becomes partially feathered. Usually that happens at an early age.

Always ask your breeder many questions to make sure that they really are knowledgeable about the parrots they are selling and that they really do care about the birds. You must have a contract for this business transaction. Also, check out your breeder's aviaries to make sure the birds have had plenty of time to fly around and be free as they would in the wild. A good breeder will offer support even after they have sold the parrot to a buyer.

Parrots are a massive commitment but in the end it will be way worth it to have this new addition to your family. A healthy parrot can live up to 100 years old. Just make sure you take the time to find a good breeder or pet store owner, although breeders often are more knowledgeable and you will probably have a better understanding of all the qualities in the parrot that you are purchasing.

Buy Your Puppies From Certified Chihuahua Breeders

When you want to buy a good pet dog having a certificate of the Chihuahua breed, and you do not want to visit a pet shop, you need to find a good Chihuahua breeder and to avoid those ones who don't really care for the good breeding practices but are in the market only to make a quick buck.

breeders choice dog food

If you are looking to buy a Chihuahua puppy directly from a breeder, this means you have high expectations and quality standards for the dog to be your pet, and the same must be the case for the breeding facilities, the environment where the dogs have been get birth and live, the breed lines of the parents and also for the professionalism of the Chihuahua breeder. Finding a trustworthy Chihuahua breeder is just a part of the problem, you will next may have to wait for the puppy you want to buy to be born, because dogs of the Chihuahua breed do not produce large litters.

Get Documented Proof Of Ancestry As Well As Health Certification

The Chihuahua breeder whom you have chosen must possess all the documents related to the ancestors of his dogs, the veterinary care, inoculations and other health issues and should provide them to you. The breeder should also be able to supply the prospective buyer pictures of the puppies as well as of their ancestors and good Chihuahua breeders should stand firmly for their puppies and be helpful in providing as much information regarding the Chihuahua puppies as well as assist the owner in any reasonable manner possible.

When you visit the breeders' facility, you can observe if the puppies are kept in a homely atmosphere or in that of a kennel run. During the visit at the breeders' facility, check by yourself the conditions the dogs are living in and watch the puppies to see if they appear in a good health status and seem to be happy. When looking for a quality breeder you may search the sites on the Internet dealing with Chihuahuas or the wanted ads in your local or regional papers. There are plenty of breeders but one should be choosy and select one that one is comfortable dealing with and who is not only helpful but also knowledgeable about the breed.

Personal involvement and the care about the fate of the dogs they have delivered is another sign you can recognize a good breeder from. A good Chihuahua breeder will not just try and palm off his or her puppies to the first buyer but will be selective and should not be one who breeds many breeds but is only breeding one or two types of dogs. And ask about the potential health issues that can occur during your dog life, the preventive measures to be taken and about genetic defects.

A good Chihuahua breeder should also be certified as member of a recognized kennel club and his facility should have been tested and certified by the specific authorities. First things the Chihuahua puppies will need at your home are clean, sanitary surroundings and premium quality food. In the search for a Chihuahua pet, one may need to search extensively before finding a quality Chihuahua breeder and should leave no stone unturned prior to the purchase as it will enable one to get the best of pets.

Online Parrot Breeders

BREEDERS

How do I find parrot breeders online? How do I know if they are reputable or not? These are some of the questions I get asked a lot. Basically it's extremely easy to find a parrot breeder online. All you have to do is run a search on one of the search engines, using the following information corresponding to your search, "parrot breeders "town or city of choice"". This information will bring up a list of the top breeders online. Now all you have to do is sift through the list and find the most appropriate one for you. Basically most breeders online are going to be reputable, but just to be sure, make sure you are able to give them a phone call and I would recommend talking to them in person before you decide to make a purchase.

Essentially you are looking for a parrot breeder in your area that will allow you to come and check out the parrots he or she has available. Also many breeders will actually deliver the parrots to your doorstep but I wouldn't recommend doing this. It's best if you go in person to check out the parrots they have available first and then make your decision from there.

Offline Parrot Breeders

Basically offline parrot breeders are just breeders that don't advertise online so you won't be able to find them by running a search on the internet. The best way to find one of these breeders is to contact the local national wildlife center and ask them if they know of any parrots breeders in the area. In many cases there are small time breeders who believe it or not generally have the best parrots available, due to the fact they are so passionate about what they do. Also you should be able to purchase a parrot for much cheaper then if you went through a more commercial breeder.

Things To Be Wary Of

Some of the things you have to be careful of include, making sure the parrot breeder is 100% reputable. You have to make sure you know where the parrots are coming from because in many cases, people have been sold a parrot that has come from the black market. This is just one of the things that is turning people away from purchasing parrots and needs to be addressed as soon as possible. The only type of parrot that should be kept in captivity is a parrot that was born in captivity and doesn't have the ability to make it in the wild. Black market parrot trading is wrong and should be condemned.

Knowing Which Chihuahua Breeders To Avoid

While anyone can put on a smiling face and tell you everything you want to hear you want to be certain that you look past the smiling face when you are talking to prospective Chihuahua breeders. You should do a lot of research before you decide to do business with any particular breeder. And any good and reputable breeder will insist that you do your research as well so that everyone is comfortable with the whole transaction. Reputable breeders have nothing to hide.

breeders choice dog food

The first thing you can do to weed out the shady breeders is to check and see what national breeding registry each are listed with. The gold standard is the American Kennel Club but there are other registries so find out which one your breeder is associated with so you can see what kind of breeding standards they use when doing their business. Also check to make sure they are really listed with the registry, do not take their word for it. Remember you are checking someone out so do your own work.

BREEDERS

Talk to your vet and ask them about the breeders that you are considering and ask them their opinion and also if they have any Chihuahua breeders they can recommend to you. If you do not have a vet then you will need one when you get the dog so there is no better time to strike up a relationship with a vet than when you are getting your first pet. Your vet is just as interested in the health and well being of your pet as you are so talk with your vet about the different breeders you are considering.

Next you should probably talk to the local law enforcement officials and ask them if they are familiar with any of the breeders you are considering. Needless to say that if the law is familiar with a breeder, but in a bad way, then you probably want to steer very clear of that breeder and move on to someone that is not on a first name basis with the police in your town. This is serious business and doing that business with a criminal is a very bad idea.

Probably the most important person you can talk to when you are considering Chihuahua breeders are the breeders themselves. Find out what their policies are and see if they offer you any detailed care and feeding instructions with your new pup. Ask if they will be available for consultation after the sale is over and just see if this is a person that you would be comfortable getting a pet from. A pet becomes a family member so make sure you are making the right choice and ask your prospective Chihuahua breeders a lot of questions.

Choosing a good breeder is the most important step to getting a Chihuahua for you and your family. It is up to you to do the research and find out if the breeders you are considering are people you want to do business with or not. Only you can make that determination and you should only make that determination after you have done more than sufficient research.

Breeders' Cup 2010 Race Schedule

When you say Breeders' Cup these days, you think Zenyatta. But the Breeders' Cup Classic in which Zenyatta goes again this time around is the final race of what is a great two days of racing. The two days open up on November 5 with the meet getting underway at 4:10pm. The first contenders to take to the track will line up in the one and three quarter mile Breeders' Cup Marathon. Last years' Marathon was won by Man of Iron who timed it perfectly to take the crown by a nose, as the championships opened up with a thrilling photo finish.

Favorite to get the two days off to a flyer in the Marathon this year is Giant Oak. Another to watch after the way they impressed in the Jamaica Handicap this year is Prince Will I Am. Currently being quoted at 8/1 for the 0,000 purse, Prince Will I Am may prove good value. There are six races on the card for day one with eight to follow during five hours of racing on day two.

BREEDERS

Day one sees the aforementioned Marathon followed by the Juvenile Fillies Turf, Filly & Mare Sprint, Juvenile Fillies, Filly & Mare Turf and the day draws to a close with the Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic at 7:30pm ET. The much loved Zenyatta is a former winner of the Ladies' Classic, but it is Life is Sweet that currently holds the title. The filley gave an impressive performance to round off day one in 2009, as she sat back behind the pack then charged ahead of all of them to leave them in her wake on the home straight. The current 7/4 favorite for this years' Ladies' Classic is 'Blind Luck'.

Day two starts at 1:50pm ET and kicks off with the Juvenile Turf. With just forty minutes to get your bet on before the Breeders' Cup Sprint, the races then come thick and fast and so does the excitement. The Sprint is followed by the Turf Sprint, the Juvenlie, the Mile, the Dirt Mile, the Turf and the championships are drawn to a close with the big one.

Zenyatta is going for 20 wins out of 20 for her career in the Breeders' Cup Classic, and she is also going for back to back wins in the race after winning in 2009. Only one other horse (Tiznow) has manged this feat in the history of the Breeders' Cup. This is Zenyatta's final test, and the whole of the racing world will be willing her on. But even if she does fail at the final fence, she will always be remembered as one of, if not the greatest horse to grace the Breeders' Cup.

Searching For Beabull Breeders Online

After you've completed the first important step of deciding what kind of dog you want to go for your family, the next step is searching through the many different beabull breeders online. The Internet is definitely the best place to start your search for a beabull for the family, but there seems to be an endless amount of options at your disposal when it comes to breeder choices. Choosing the right breeder is just as important as choosing the right dog because you can't find the right beabull if you aren't at one of the quality beabull breeders online. While most of the breeders certainly know what they are doing, you will want to avoid the lower tier beabull breeders. Picking the right beabull breeder may seem like a tough task, but it is actually much easier than it sounds.

breeders choice dog food

Searching through all of the beabull breeders online may seem like an impossible task, but there are ways you can quickly weed out the less than perfect choices and get right down to the nitty gritty. Picking the right breeder is very important because you need to make sure the puppies are healthy and that there is nothing wrong with them. Reputation is key here because the breeders with the best reputation are likely to give you the healthiest and happiest beabull possible. Most sites will have little biographies for each puppy where you can read about each individual puppy's personality and perhaps even see pictures of him or her.

BREEDERS

The best thing about a beabull is that it will combine the intelligence and stubbornness from a beagle and combine it with the loyalty and distinguished personality of a bulldog. They will range pretty widely in size, as some are as small as twenty pounds and others get as big as fifty. Size isn't the only area where this breed of dog has some range, and most online beabull breeders will tell you that the color variety is quite large with the beabull. You pretty much get a choice in color as they can be tan, fawn, white, red, or any mixture of these four colors. The best way to determine what kind of beabull you are getting before you make your choice is to take a look at the parents. You can learn a good amount about a beabull puppy's personality and possible future appearance just by learning a little bit about the dog's parents. Most online beabull breeders will give you more than enough information to make your decision because they know you are likely to choose a dog you know at least some information about and it will make them seem more reputable. Beabulls take to new surroundings and people very well, so there won't be any problems getting them acclimated to their new home.

The Breeders' Cup Classic

The Breeders' Cup Classic is the highlight of the two day Breeders' Cup event. This Grade I stakes race is for Thoroughbreds three years old and older. The race is a 1 ¼ miles and is considered to be the premier Thoroughbred race of the year. The purse is a whopping million.

Due to the race's large purse, it regularly attracts US and International competitors. Due to this, specific weight rules and restrictions have been placed to ensure a fair field. Horses must be three years old and older to compete and weight rules have been placed for horses based on age. Four year olds and up are required to carry 126 pounds. Three year olds born in the northern hemisphere and having an official birthday of January 1st are required to carry 122 pounds. Three year olds born in the southern hemisphere and having an official birthday of August 1st are required to carry 117 pounds. Horses born in the southern hemisphere are considered to be younger than horse's born in the northern hemisphere due to the difference in foaling seasons below the equator.

BREEDERS

The winner of the Breeders' Cup Classic often goes on to win U.S. Horse of the Year Honors. This has been in the case in the last four winners of the race, which included Curlin in 2007, Invasor in 2006, Saint Liam in 2005 and Ghostzapper in 2004.

This race is traditionally a hard race to predict. The competition in the Breeders' Cup Classic is so fierce and of high quality that you never know which horse will be the winner for the day. One classic underdog win was in 1993 when Arcangues took the win. This was considered to be the biggest upset in Breeders' Cup history with a payoff of 9.20 for a bet.

Not only do horseracing fans see the best of the best in today's horses, but they also see the world's top trainers and riders. However, due to the popularity of the race and the tough competition, it is not uncommon to see a new trainer take the win. For instance, D. Wayne Lukas, who has won numerous races in other

Breeders' Cup events only has one Breeders' Cup Classic under his belt with 1999's winner Cat Thief. You also see the best of the best in jockeys in the Breeders' Cup Classic with great names such as Chris McCarron, Jerry Bailey, Mike E. Smith and Pat Day having numerous wins in this race.

The Pallas Cat

Endangered Species - Pallas Cat The Pallas Cat is a small Asian cat ranging from the eastern shoreline of the Caspian Sea and Iran to western China, central Kazakhstan, the Altai Mountains and Inner Mongolia and reaching Tibet and Ladakha. The Pallas cat was named after a German naturalist, Peter Pallas, who discovered the species in 1778. He also noted that the cat was missing the front pre-molar teeth, giving it 28 teeth instead of 30, as found in most felines. These cats inhabit both desert and the rocky terrain and woodlands of the mountain steppe environments where they have been observed on rocky plateaus at altitudes of 13,000 feet.

ocelot coach

Although the Pallas Cat is not technically on the endangered species list, its status is close enough. This beautiful and unique creature faces extinction due to a multitude of threats. It is globally listed as Near Threatened by the IUCN (www.iunc.org) and ranked as a CITES (www.cites.org) Appendix II species. In Mongolia, work done by the Denver Zoo's Mongolia Program identified key threats to the species in 2003.

OCELOT

The most severe threat identified is from widespread over-hunting and illegal poaching. Pallas cats are hunted throughout Mongolia for their fur and body parts that are sold mainly to the medicinal markets of eastern Asia, and are also sought for the pet trade in some international markets. Western China's annual harvest (excluding Inner Mongolia and Manchuria) in the early 1950s was approximately 10,000 skins. Annual take in Mongolia during the early 1900s was reportedly as high as 50,000 skins per year. From1958 to 1968 harvests averaged 6,500 animals annually, and in the mid-1970s, the annual harvest in Afghanistan was estimated to be 7,000. Harvests in the former Soviet Union declined during the 1970s, suggesting a decrease in abundance, as they also did in China during the 1970s and 80s prior to the extension of legal protection to the species.

Mongolia became the principal exporter in the 1980s, with 9,185 skins exported in 1987 until hunting was prohibited in 1988 and exports essentially ceased. In recent years, Pallas cats have disappeared from much of the Caspian region and from the easternmost parts of its range in China due to over-hunting. Poisoning to control pika populations have taken place on a large scale in parts of the Russian Federation (southwest Transbaikalia, Tuvinskaya, Altai Mountains) where they are considered to be vectors for plague, and in parts of China (Qinghai, Gansu and Inner Mongolia) where they are considered competitors of domestic livestock for grass. As a result, Pallas cats face shortages of prey in some areas as well as suffering threats from secondary poisoning.

The scientific classification of this creature is: Kingdom: Animalia, Phylum: Chordata, Class: Mammalia, Order: Carnivora, Family: Felidae, Genus: Felis, Species: Felis Manual. Its binomial name is Otocolobus manual. The other name for the Pallas cat is Manual. The word "manual" was borrowed from the Mongolian language. Manual is more preferable to those who live in Russia and other Asiatic countries.

It is oldest living species of the cat family, evolving some ten million years ago and is similar to the lynx in facial appearance, with a large, sturdy body and short legs. It is roughly the size of a domestic cat with a short, broad head and large, beautiful, round eyes. Its blunt wide-set ears are set low, giving the cat an owl-like appearance. Its long, silky coat varies in color from light gray to russet brown, with white tips to its hairs giving a sparkling, almost iridescent appearance. There are dark lines on its cheek, rings on its tail, and its lips, chin, and throat are white.

Pallas cats look much heavier than they really are due to their stocky build and thick coat and are well adapted to their habitat of steppes, cold deserts and rocky country in central Asia. The thick fur coat insulates them against the cold, and the well furred tail can be wrapped around the body like a warm muff. The well developed nictitating membrane (third eyelid) may afford protection against both the cold winds and the regular dust storms which arise in parts of their range.

Peter Pallas first suggested that this was the ancestor of the long-haired Persian breeds of domestic cats because of its long hair, stocky build and flattened face. The hair on its belly and tail is nearly twice as long as on the top and sides. This keeps this little animal warm when it hunts on snow, cold rock or frozen ground. Pallas cats weigh between 4.5- 10 lbs. I first became interested in the Pallas cat while doing some research on the Internet and found a website called bigcatrescue.org. This organization rescues abused and unwanted cats, either domestic or wild. When I first saw the picture of this cat, I thought it was one of the most beautiful creatures I had ever seen and I wanted to learn more. Although it resembles a domestic cat in size, these creatures are completely fierce: just look into their eyes. Every picture I have seen of a Pallas cat shows a creature who will not be tamed. They are able to climb rocky crevices and cliff faces with ease. The flat head and low set ears are thought to be adaptations for stalking prey in open areas with relatively little cover. These cats feed on a variety of small mammals including pikas, voles, marmots and ground squirrels, as well as a number of different birds including larks, sandgrouse and ptarmigan.

They hide away for much of the day in caves or hollows under stones, or may adopt the burrows of other creatures such as marmots or foxes. Like the majority of cats, the Pallas cat is largely a solitary creature. Females have territories that may cover as much as 8 square kilometers, and males are usually free-roaming across those territories. Except for the mating season, contact between cats may well lead to fierce fights unless a local hierarchy has been established. Dens are made deep in piles of boulders, and in here females give birth once a year to litters of cubs. Females can have up to 6 to 8 kittens after a gestation of 66-75 days, and are typically born in late April and May. They reach sexual maturity around 12 months old. They have a life span of twelve years, good black and white vision, excellent smell and hearing. Their whiskers add detail such as wind direction and vibration.

Unfortunately, the Pallas cat is one of the least studied wild cats in the world but that is slowly changing. In conducting this research, I have found several programs that are trying save this little cat. The one I liked best is the Pallas Cat Study and Conservation Program. Members of this program are committed to conserving the Pallas' cat and it natural habitat in Central Asia, conducting research on all aspects of the Pallas cat's biology and promoting environmental education and awareness concerning Pallas cat's habitat and species conservation. This program also has a number of organizations that support their efforts to save this beautiful creature from extinction. They include: the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden, the Columbus Zoo, Disney's Wild Animal Kingdom Conservation Award, Wild about Cats, Woodland Park Zoo, and Philadelphia Zoo.

Dog Lovers Guide to Golden Retrievers Breeders

There is plenty of pride and joy in owning a golden retriever. Most importantly, you would want to bring home a healthy pup that turns out to be physically and emotionally stable. To pick the right one you will need to search for reputable golden retrievers breeders. Depending on your location, you may have the privilege to choose. If not, then you may have to consider widening your base in order to find the right breeder.

breeders choice dog food

Many may claim to be golden retrievers breeders, but there is a lot you will need to check on so that you don't end up with a low quality pedigree. To begin with, avoid looking for a puppy at pet shops. They may not offer the best quality breed. Another type to avoid is backyard breeders who only look to make a fast buck and focus on breeding their females with the primary objective of selling the puppies. Most importantly, they may not have a clue about the health issues about the breed and lack the ability to breed dogs properly.

BREEDERS

Reputable golden retrievers breeders are more interested in breeding pedigree pups and are most knowledgeable about the breed. Those that consider it as their hobby are the ones to approach if you want the very best in golden retriever pups. While they do make monetary gains, they also ensure that their pups are of the best lineage and are going to good homes.

Several factors need to be considered when searching for golden retrievers breeders. A breeder must have adequate knowledge about goldens and their health issues as well as have the passion for breeding. Those who personally take care of the breeding process are worth approaching. When you approach a breeder, ask them about the pup's lineage and the possibility of observing both the parents. A good breeder will be happy to talk about the traits of the parents such as obedience, hunting, and agility. Hunting dogs are agile, lanky, and athletic with a shorter coast as compared to show dogs that are stockier and heavy-boned with a dense coat.

The best way to determine a healthy pup is to ask your veterinarian to examine them. You could also examine the pup for any rash or dull coat that could be signs of neglect. Most importantly, you need to make sure the pup is over seven weeks so that you do not disturb the physical and emotional attention they need from the mother in his early days.

When visiting golden retrievers breeders ask to see the health certificates of both parents to eliminate the possibility of any health problems. Kennel club registrations are also important especially if you desire to put your pup in the show ring. It is important to understand the puppies are not churned off an assembly line where everyone is identical. Though the breed may be the same the puppies from one breeder will differ from another. It is the knowledge and skill of golden retrievers breeders that make the difference. A good breeder will know how to select the parents and raise the pups in an appropriate manner.

Call them knowledgeable or responsible breeders, they can only qualify if they produce puppies that are raised in the house and not a basement or kennel. Remember, good breeders may ask you many questions. Take this as a giant step towards finding the right breeder.

Animal Friendly Animal Prints

Animal print is a clothing and fashion style in which the garment is made to resemble the pattern of the skin and fur of an animal such as a leopard, cheetah, zebra or giraffe. Animal print accessories also have a major role in making them popular. They change the entire persona of a person. Jewelry, handbags, footwear, coats, jackets and dresses are some of them.

ocelot stuffed animal

Animal prints have long been a popular style for many reasons. For one, they are generally expensive and considered rather exotic; hence they are a symbol of wealth and status. Animal print became popular for women in the United States in the late 1960s during the Hippie movement.

Fur Clothing:

Fur is still worn in most countries, although an increasing number of consumers and designers reject fur because of cruelty. There are sellers who offer duplicate fur clothes and people find it difficult to find the difference between the original and duplicate fur. These are the reasons why they don't like to wear fur and move to animal print clothing.

Animal Print Dresses For Women:

These dresses offer unique potential for fashion style. They also add a touch of class to a smart outfit. There are many types of animal print fashion recommended in the market. However the few famous animal print goes to zebra print, leopard print and also the giraffe print.

Cheetah Print Dresses:

A true cheetah print will consist of simple black, solid spot. Cheetah spots are typically much simpler than leopard spots. Leopard spots on the other hand involve clusters of black spots with some brown regions. They tend to look more like complicated rosettes than just dots. The secret of wearing an animal based pattern fashion trend successfully is to relate the volume of pattern to our personality.

Leopard Print Clothing:

It is a fashion trend that steadily grows in summer, and will continue to be prominent through the autumn and winter. One way that the animal print trend is developing is that it includes other animal skins, for example, ocelot, cow, tiger and jaguar. An increasing number of accessories have animal print textures.

It is a black-and-white dress with multi-colored floral print trim. Those dresses without straps are called zebra print tube dress. 8 Greatest Video Game Villains

So many games focus too much on the hero, so the bad guy is overlooked and ends up being boring and lacking personality. But games today need more dimensions to keep today's ADD gamer interested and happy. This is my salute to those games that have villains almost as cool, if not cooler, than the hero.

8) Final Fantasy 8: Seifer

OCELOT

Seifer starts out as Squall's fellow student in the SEED academy and is the reason Squall has that nasty scar. The rivalry turns sour and Seifer shows his true colors as a villain. I liked that Seifer was a fairly normal looking villain; he wasn't a dancing clown (Kefka) or a effeminate male blurring gender lines (Kuja).

7) Super Mario: Bowser

Even though Donkey Kong was the original nemesis of Mario, Bowser was way cooler, mainly because he was a dragon and Donkey Kong was just a monkey. Bowser had his own minions, a huge castle, and spikes on his shell. He always stole the scene from Mario, especially when he joins the group in Super Mario RPG. Because he was the strongest character in the game, I'll overlook how ridiculous he looked in that flying clown.

6) Chrono Cross: Lynx

Lynx is an interesting villian, he is a bi-pedal feline with a pretty cool outfit that seems to reflect a dark, gothic style that someone like Dracula would wear. With a female clown named Harle as a sidekick, Lynx had a Joker feel to him and when Serge and him switch bodies, you control Lynx for a portion of the game, creating a connection between him and the gamer.

5) Resident Evil 5: Wesker

You are first introduced to Wesker in Resident Evil, but you get to know his character much better in the fifth installment. A long coat and glasses are the typical villain fare, but Wesker has super human strength thanks to the virus he contains in his body. Chris and Sheva are his punching bags during most of the game and Wesker has some pretty showy moves when he puts the hurt on them. Do yourself a favor and rent Resident Evil 5, if not just to watch Wesker's fight scenes.

4) Baldur's Gate: Sarevok

The intro movie to Baldur's Gate introduces the player to Sarevok and shows he is not to be taken lightly. As step brother of the main character and killer of his adoptive father, Sarevok's motives are unclear and it is up to the player to track him down and keep him from completing his diabolical schemes. A giant who is covered head to toe in armor, Sarevok is a challenge to defeat.

3) Metal Gear Solid: Revolver Ocelot

Our first introduction to Ocelot is in the acclaimed Playstation game Metal Gear Solid and it is a bit disappointing, since he gets his arm cut off by Grey Fox. Nevertheless, Ocelot keeps it old school by using a six shooter and the next games in the Metal Gear games dive deeper into his character. Ocelot was an agent during the Cold War and his marksmanship rivaled Snake's, if not surpassing it. Not until later in the series does the player finally learn what side Ocelot is playing for and the mystery that surrounds him puts him high on my list as a cool villian.

2) Final Fantasy VII: Sephiroth

It's amazing how Sephiroth is practically a household name, even with people who never played FFVII and the iconic villain is the epitome of cool. Everyone likes Sephiroth, even though he wants to suck all the mako from the planet and sail around the universe on it. What really raises Sephiroth above other villains are the fight scenese that display his sheer power and skillful sword play, all the while keeping his cocky confidence. Whether it be against Genesis, Zack, or Cloud, Sephiroth always puts on a show.

1) Knights of the Old Republic: Darth Revan

This is my number one and tops Sephiroth mainly because the player actually is Darth Revan, but doesn't know it until later in the game. Revan is one of the coolest characters in the Star Wars series, wearing the usual dark hooded robe and Boba Fett type mask. It is a great twist in the game when you discover that you actually are this dark and evil character. It's up to the player whether or not to continue Revan's reign of terror and reclaim his throne of evil by defeating his apprentice Dark Malak, or you can turn your back against your old ways and join the light side of the force.

Acquiring Your Leopard Gecko - Pet Stores Or Breeders?

Among lizard lovers, the popularity of the leopard gecko is steadily climbing. Nocturnal reptilian creatures originating from Central Asia, these lizards are resilient and are able to thrive in the most unforgiving environments.

breeders choice dog food

While these lizards can easily make it in the wild, captivity is a completely different story. Before you go ahead and make a dash for the neighborhood pet store, it would be a good idea to do some research. If you're still reading this article, high five! You're on your way to being a tad bit more gecko-smart than you were ten minutes ago.

BREEDERS

While pet stores do carry leopard geckos, this isn't always the best place to buy them. Pet stores outsource their animals from suppliers. They do not breed and hatch their animals. This doesn't necessarily mean they're sinister, but it does mean there is a lot they are not able to keep tabs on. Important things that could determine the survival of your new pet-- this is why reptile lovers like me advocate buying exotic pets from breeders, not pet stores.

Since these pet stores source their animals from other people, these "other people" might have plucked the leopard gecko from the wild. This is not a good idea at all. Not only does this endanger the existing wild population, this could pose health hazards both to your pet and to your household.

Buying from a breeder helps ensure that you get a healthy pet. They've bred and raised them, and are aware of many things pet store owners may not be privy to. Remember that the life expectancy of a leopard gecko is considerably long-- twenty years. Do not shortchange yourself by not carefully picking out your lizard.

Some of the red flags that indicate a problematic lizard include lumps, bumps, cuts and wounds. Your lizard should stand erect, and their bellies should be off the ground, grazing it. Leopard geckos should not be lethargic and should have no trouble breathing. Healthy lizards are alert, active and generally uppity. Make sure to examine its tail, since a fat tail is a sign that it is well fed. This is where they store their excess fat. Remember, also, that different sexes have different needs. Check the sex of the leopard gecko.

Breeders mostly sell their reptiles on the internet. They have very comprehensive catalogues and "baby book"ish chronicles of each animal available.

Teacup Dogs - Some Facts

Another slang term for the Chihuahua and other dogs of smaller breed is Teacup dogs. The AKC or American Kennel Club now has 21 toy breeds or the canine breeds that are diminutive. The main reason why the slang term was coined is because the pups can easily fit into a teacup. Such puppies are a bit expensive and since people are easily drawn to small and cute pups, the dogs are sellable.

breeders choice dog food

When purchasing the teacup dog, you need to be aware that it has shorter life spans are prone to health issues. It has medical needs that you need to attend to if you want to prolong its life. These dogs are prone to hydrocephalus. In this condition, the brain contains water or fluids thereby causing pressure. If your dog has a stressed appearance, wobbly, and bulging eyes, then there is a high chance that your dog has hydrocephalus. However, there are times when symptoms are now always noticeable. In humans, such condition can be cured but with the dogs, it no longer has a solution.

BREEDERS

Certain genetic factors can also lead to weak bones, thin appearance, disorders in the blood sugar, and many other problems. You can't really tell when your dog is going to develop hydrocephalus and you're lucky if you have a healthy teacup dog as a pet.

To produce Teacup dogs, two runts are mated which results to small offspring. Runts usually have medical issues and when you mate them, weaker breeds are produced. Did you know that a teacup dog can cost you around ,000? Breeders will surely gain a lot of money by selling the puppies.

If you are prepared to shoulder high vet bills, this may be the dog for you. When purchasing a teacup dog, you will need to find a reputable and experienced breeder to ensure that you are getting healthy pups that will stay with your for a longer period. The teacups marketed today don't qualify for papering in the AKC but the breeders are looking for ways to improve the standards for the diminutive breeds.

By doing your homework like checking the background of the breeder, you can purchase healthy pups. Don't forget to inquire about the champion or pedigree lines especially if you have plans to enter your pet in a dog show. Like the Chihuahua, the teacup dog is not ideal for very young children. Such dog breeds are protective and snippy. Since children can be careless, they might hurt the dog. Only two things can happen - the dog can get killed or the child can be harmed.

Because of the very small size of the dog, it shouldn't be purchased by families with small kids. The Teacup dogs are best suited for households with senior citizens or all adults. The dogs need care and attention because of their smaller size and potential health problems. You should be aware of the potential problems that you can encounter by owning a teacup. Learn everything you can about this dog before making a purchase.

Wildlife in Belize

Though Belize is a very small country, it has captivated an amazing variety of wildlife habitat. Approximately 145 species of mammals and 139 species of reptiles and amphibians have so far been identified in Belize, including over 56 species of snakes. Over 500 species of birds have made Belize their home, and thriving in many distinct habitats.

ocelot stuffed animal

Wildlife in Belize is simply marvelous. The savannahs and lowlands are home to rare waterfowls, and the forests provide a refuge to tapirs, pumas and numerous tropical birds, while the mountains give the elusive jaguars, and the big cats' armful hiding grounds.

OCELOT

The Big Cats

There are five native species of big cats mainly found here in Belize. The elusive jaguar is what everyone wants to see, but only a few are able to witness. Once commonly found throughout this land, jaguars are now rare and mostly only found in parts of large protected reserves.

Jaguar - - - Felis onca coati

Jaguars are rarely seen in daylight, but occasionally you may find one on a cliff or log enjoying sunshine. This Central American carnivore is a very good swimmer, and can cross over lakes, rivers and straits with ease. They favor damp sites like streambeds in gallery forests, where their foot-prints often reveal the presence.

Jaguars prefer to take peccaries as prey, however even monkeys, agoutis, deer, birds, fish, lizards, turtles and other animals form part of their diet. Carrions left by receding waters reveal them feeding on alligators, iguanas and also dead fish. They seem not to avoid the scent of man, but attacks on humans are unheard of and rare.

Fur hunters and deforestation however have reduced them to a few hundred in Central America's and Brazil's thickest rainforests. The Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary as the only designated jaguar preserve in the world is a prize for Belize, and has put wonderful efforts for the preservation of this wild-cat.

Mountain Lion - - - Felis concolor majensis

They are also called cougars, panthers, catamounts, and in Belize pumas. These are the largest wild-cats found in Central America, and these solitary animals avoid humans if they can. Primarily they feed on deer, but also feed on porcupines, raccoons, birds, small mammals, foxes, mice and grass They are very good climbers and can almost leap up to 20 feet from a standstill. They can also jump down from a 60 feet height, and delight.

A single male lion maintains a home territory of about 175 square miles. Preferring wild areas frequented by deer, one lion would consume about one deer per week. A lion covers the remains of the prey and may return to eat until the meat begins to turn. So, don't hang around if you ever come across his kills, he may just be somewhere around.

Heavy if this may sound, an adult mountain lion can easily weigh up to 200 pounds.

Ocelot - - - Felis p. pardalis

This is the most commonly seen of all cats in Belize. They are nocturnal and diurnal, and abundantly found in all tropical forests. They mainly feed on the ground, and rarely climb trees, although they too are excellent climbers.

Normally they are found to be hunting among open trails at night, and relax within the thick bush during daytime. They are found throughout Belize in variety of habitats, from dry scrub to dense forests, Ocelots are all around.

They feed on small mammals, birds, reptiles and insects. They are commonly called 'Tiger Cats' here, in Belize.

Jaguarundi - - - Felis yagouaroundi fossata

A native of Central America, and the northern and central countries of South America, all the way to Argentina, the jaguarondis live in dense shrubbery and thickets, and on the edge of forests where there is relative safety.

They mostly live on ground, but are expert climbers as well. They are mostly active at night, but also move around the day, mostly to quench their thirsts during mid day.

The jaguarondi is a small cat with a long tail, short limbs and a slender body. The fur is short and smooth, and they have small round ears. They come in black, grey, brown or fox-red, while the newborns have spots on their coat. They primarily feed on rats, mice, birds and rabbits.

Margay - - - Felis wiedii yucatanica

The margay is also known as 'The Long Tailed Spotted Cat' looks very much like the ocelot. The body is however smaller, and with longer legs and tail.

They live exclusively in forested areas, and are the most accomplished climbers amongst all other fellow cats. They are very comfortable on trees and branches, and can move like monkeys even on tree tops.

Margays hunt almost exclusively at night and prey on birds, small monkeys, tree frogs and insects found in the habitat.

Others in the Wild

When these cats are able to thrive in this habitat, it simply means that there is abundance of other supporting wildlife, to enable them live and grow at the same time.

There are 56 species of snakes, 15 types of other carnivores, herbivores, omnivores, varieties of bird species, and plenty of bats. Wildlife in Belize is undisturbed and flourishing, thanks to the eco-friendly policies adopted by the Belizean government.

All nature is converging onto Belize, making this a wonderful space worth experiencing.

Sure, Belize is a wonderland.
